You and I have talked people here without a clue through more complicated things before.

PS Loulou, I'm not having a go at you, just banter with Quincy.., if you don't feel confident at having a go, then don't.. but there is not much point us wasting time here answering you, if you aren't gonna try it.

There is a pictorial guide in Chippy's post here:

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

I must say the was dell go on about removeing the heat sink and fan then all the other stuff. I think the 5150 fronts come off when you pull them from the bottom no screws.

or just remove the rest of the blanking plates and reseat them all correctly without even removing the case.

And Quincy saying dell should send an engineer to replace a blanking plate for a drive bay !!!!!! are you thinking? Im a field engineer and get really annoyed driving for up to 3 hours each way to remove a floppy from a drive of a pc that is getting a boot failure and other silly little things like that

I asked them if there was anything on the screen and they said yes .. what they didn't tell me was it was the little piece of plastic describing the features of the screen that you peel off when installing it .. they were even less impressed when they got the bill
