Opening a Miele vacuum cleaner - how?!?!

I am trying to access the motor in my Miele vacuum cleaner (s5210) as it seems to have burnt out.

However, opening up the vacuum cleaner is proving extremely difficult.

I have found screws at the front (near handle) and the back (near the power switch and cord winder) along with under the filter. But even after unscrewing these, nothing seems to come loose apart from the front of the machine (near handles). The back is still solidly in place.

Does anyone know how to open up one of these Miele cylinder cleaners??

I can't help you with opening it up, but are you aware that Miele do a single price repair for their vacuum cleaners?

My sister just had hers repaired & it came back with half of it replaced/renewed. Says it works better now than it ever has.

Might be worth considering as the cost of replacement parts may easily outstrip the single cost repair service they offer (provided it is less than 10 years old).
