Thanks for your email about your recent orders.

At M&S our aim is to ensure that we respond to customer queries quickly, completely and accurately. I apologise that you have had to contact us again as we have not met your expectations.

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced with your recent sale orders, this is not up to our usual level of service and I apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused.

I have checked your replacement order for the:

1 x Autograph Wool Rich Single Breasted 2 Button
1 x Colour Bracelets - CRAZY PAVING STRE
1 x Faux Crocodile Print Pleated Blouse

I can confirm this order has started the dispatch process and the items are currently being prepared for dispatch, you should receive email notification shortly.

With regards to the multiple orders, I believe you were advised to place these to ensure you received the sale items. A better method would be to place 1 large order and request we split the delivery so items are delivered as we have stock available rather than in one big parcel. This way you would only have the one delivery charge, or if the order was over £150 the delivery would be free.

As a goodwill gesture I will remove the delivery charge from this order but any additional orders will be subject to a delivery charge from this point onwards. I have marked your account for a follow up and will refund the delivery charge once it has been dispatched. I will email you to confirm this has been actioned.

I hope you have a pleasant evening.

I just got the above email re delivery charges. so, it seems they would rather dispatch an order of say 12 items in batches of 3 meaning the customer pays one charge, M&S pay 3 lots of charges themselves, than dispatch in one parcel and refund the postal charges for one order when multiple orders are placed the same day.

Also this was a response to a query I had made about an email from them saying "items out of stock" on order. On an order I had already cancelled.....and replaced by a new order but containing the same items plus another new item. So, the items in the old order were OOS, but the same items in the new order are now being sent to dispatch. Totally confused!

I think I have finished ordering now, so it won't affect me but seems a bit short sighted to me.

Placing one large order would mean that most of the items in your basket would be snatched by other people before you checkout. M&S seem to have missed the point - that stock levels are so hit and miss we feel we have to rush to place small orders. Where is the option to send orders in small parcels anyway? I've seen the option to break an order down into smaller parts but it says you will incur several postage charges - so that would be silly!

Similar situation to me - 2 x 25p packs of tags after all other items cancelled AND delivery charge of £2.33!!!! It stinks.

I would try CS and see if they can refund your postage. It does seem silly to charge that amount.
