Sheffield to stafford and back once a week, cheapest?
Hi all.
I live in Sheffield and need to be in Stafford one day a week, 9-5. I have a car that does around 30mpg. The trip is 90 miles each way.
Reading the MSE email earlier got me thinking, can I do this cheaper by train? I had a look on the rail websites but they do not work well on my phone, and I can't start calling train operators as I'm at work!
Anyone know if there are any tickets that I could look into?

Well an off peak return on the train, changing at Stockport, is £33.30. From what I can see, all trains are off peak. The journey time in normally under 2 hours
If you were lucky with advance purchase tickets and split the journey at Stockport you might be able to save on this, some of the time.0 -
Even cheaper, Hitch Hike0
