Recommendation for good internet friendly notice savings account

Hi all. Have decided that in 2010 I'm finally going to start saving some money to build up a deposit to buy a property in a year. So far, I've had instant access savings account attached to bank accounts, but have always found that not only were the rates of interest not great, it was far too easy to end up withdrawing the money when I wanted to spend it, so instead I want a notice account.
Ideally I'm looking for:
- Notice account, ideally a month, no longer than four months.
- Internet access, so I can keep track of how much I've currently saved without waiting on statements.
- Ability to deposit funds 'on the fly' via bank transfer from my current account.
I'm fortunate enough to be in a fairly good job and plan to save around £35-40k in the first year from an initial deposit of about £5,000.
I literally know nothing about any of this, having up until now been more of an expert in spending money than saving it, so would really appreciate any suggestions of accounts I should consider that fit the above criteria.
Thanks in advance
