I'm new to this

Hello All,

I wonder if one of you lovely people can help me please. I am not a wealthy person, but would like to find the best way of saving money each month. Is it possible to start an ISA with as little as £100, and can I invest a further £100 each month into this ISA?

Any words of advice welcome.

Happy New Year,
Pete

    Yes it is completely possible.

You need an instant access ISA, and you can save up to £3,600 in it before April 2010 and an additional £5,100 April 2010 onwards.

You can also invest in stocks and shares ISA, but I suspect you may be wanting to stick to cash for now.

Well done and good on you for starting your saving.

Kazza's "best currently available" lists various accounts, which I'm sure you'll find very useful.
  • Thank you both for your help.

I will do some research and start an ISA next month.

  • You can do a ISA and transfer more money in each month and some high street banks also do monthly savers (save between £20 and £250/£300 a month) when you have filled your ISA. Have a look round thou - i'd go for an ISA first as it is tax free thou.
