Tax credits stopped because of one day gap in employment

i have rung them today and they said there is no change but sent a notification off to the head office and they said that will tax 4 weeks, maybe as you work for TC you can help us?

I am not a caseworker so cannot work on a claim unless I receive a phone call. And you would not be able to call me direct. You will only be able to talk to the adviser on the helpline.

If they have given you the 4 week timescale I can only assume they have sent your details to the team who deal with claims terminated in error.

what a pain in the backside! they said it may be quicker to re apply rather than wait for the amendment??

yes they have backdated it and also awarded me my appeal to back date tax credits for more than 3 months! i got £2000

sending me them in giros though! lol

hi . i just noticed you work for tc , was hoping you could answer a quick question?

I receive wtc /ctc . i had applied for dla for my daughter . it took from march until oct before i was awarded the dla (i had to go to an appeal tribunal) . when i informed tc about the dla award the advisor on the phone told me that because of the circumstances , i could get my child disability premium back dated beyond the usual 3 months i.e back to when the dla was awarded from (march) , but when the claim was sorted and my new award notice came i had only received back payment of 3 months.

I have appealed the decision and received a letter saying they will be in touch by MAY . WHAT DO YOU THINK CHANCES ARE OF THE DECISION BEING CHANGED? Is it normal for an appeal to be successful/

When did you tell tax credits that you had been awarded DLA for your daughter? Did you tell them within 3 months of the decision being made in October. If you told them within 3 months of you finding out then I think they are meant to backdate it fully.

Hi .

Yeah , i told them pretty much straight away that dla had been awarded.

Think it was around 3 days after we went to the tribunal.

The advisor DEFO said on the phone that we would be getting it all back paid.

lorelai34 is correct. As long as you notify within 3 months of the decision they should backdate fully.
