argos won't exchange faulty ps3

Do not buy from Argos - i had an xbox that died 2 weeks after purchase and returned it to my store only to be told to visit the microsoft xbox website. I then put my serial number in and the website said my console was out of its 1 year warranty by 1 month.

Back to Argos and was told they couldnt help as i could not prove that the console i had was not an older one i was trying to get exchanged.

After an email to microsoft with a copy of my argos reciept they agreed to check my live account and could see the xbox was not used online before the purchase date. After picking it up and checking it they returned it to me fixed with some freebies for the trouble and my warranty restored.

They did also say that the box has a window so the retailer can see the serial number and should put it on the reciept

Right on the money!

The issue - as stated earlier - is having the retailer accept that, though the unit was purchased a couple of months ago, it has only just been used for the first time.
