Sounds like a great idea - wish I was so organised. I'm sure others will have lots of ideas about what to buy but my tip is to remember that usually anything you make up into a meal etc to freeze (if you make a bit extra each time you cook) will take up more space than the original frozen ingredients so as well as planning your purchases, plan your use of space!
Also I try to put little bags of leftover chopped onions/peppers etc into the freezer - means that it's not getting thrown out & if I'm stuck for a meal I can quickly fry them up from frozen into a cheap pasta dish with some pesto or cheese etc.
Edit - just saw your original thread & one essential for me if i was bulk buying food would be to chop loads of onions using a food processor & freeze them for soups/stews etc.0
