I'm starting this from the beginning of march. I always have loads of coins in my pocket and when I have it I will spend it. Saving it sounds like a better idea.0

can I please be added to the list? (not sure how this works as I've not done it before, do I just post how much I've saved in a certain length of time?)0

my wife and I have been saving £2 coins for a while, and in 2008 we accumulated £720, enough for a week away in Dorset with son and his wife. We started again right away and have no idea how much is in the VW camper van money box at the moment :T0

I've not updated for a while, but have added another 5 to the pot. I've counted the pot and the grand total is £132. :jI've bagged up £100 and left it in the tin, to save recounting everytime I lose count of my total.Starting again and working towards our new df life!A very proud forces wife0

Just got back off my lunch from Tesco. got a meal deal for £2 and I thought to myself, Oooh can get the ball rolling here with my first £2 coin. handed over a fiver. Received 3 x £1 coins back. I kindly asked the checkout lady if she could exchange 2 of the coins for its bigger brother.
Just my luck that I happen to go to the only (not proven) till with no £2 coins in it! Oh well, maybe next time.0 -

Can I join too ?
I made myself a money box last year out of some scrap oak we had at work and have been putting £2 coins in it. I made it so that it required a great deal of effort to open (6 brass screws, then varnished over them). My youngest daughter said she would like a money box too so I made another one last week, equally hard to open, but she didn't like it as much as the old one. I like it better, so I gave her the old one. I think she thought she was getting the contents too, cheeky monkey. I eventually opened it and it had £152 in it, which I have transferred to the new box. I've planned a day out in London in April for my wife and myself (no kids) as we've been together for 25 years, so this will come in handy. I'm obsessively collecting more £2 coins in the vain hope that I will have a couple of hundred quid to make it a really great day.
I shall of course pay most of this in to the bank then use my Amex 5% cashback card wherever possible to get the most out of the extra cash. Can't lose really !:money:0 -
