That explains why my pension money is in my account today. I'm so glad I opted for weekly payments. I wonder if anyone has opted for an annual one?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

This happened last week, when Boxing Day fell on Saturday. Monday was treated as the Bank Holiday, so all payments went out beforehand.
I know Monday is a public holiday in Scotland but the banks are still open.0 -
I'm also glad I opted for weekly in advance but, unfortunately, that option isn't going to be available for much longer - all new pensioners after I think it's next April, will be paid monthly in arrears. A really sneaky little move.0

Could be wrong, but IIRC weekly payments will still be available next year, but in arrears, not in advance for new pensioners. No change for existing ones.Trying to keep it simple...0 -
As I said, it is for NEW pensioners and definitely no more weekly payments when it comes in, it was fully discussed on the money programme on radio 4.0

I wish you could get paid monthly. They actually pay every 4 weeks which I find difficult to manage. I would prefer to be paid on, say, the 28th of each month.0

Could anybody tell me, please. How often do they pay Pension Credits? I hope I've put this on the right thread.! I will turn 60 in May and, as I am already claiming JSA Income-based for me and my wife. If I opt to claim Pesion Credits, come May I will have an immediate "rise" of some £80 + per week. Is this correct? It's just that my Jobcentre advisor has given me the option of staying on JSA..he says "some claimants prefer to claim JSA, rather than PC. Can anyone please explain the disparity between the two benefits?
Would I still qualify for HB & CTB? Don't get me wrong, I WOULD work if there was anything out there..but 20 rejections last year alone. It makes me wonder what I am doing wrong. Thanking you in anticipation.Only Look Down On People...To Offer Them A Hand UP:)0 -
Change to pension credit, it stops them hassling you to get non-existent jobs, you get HB & CTB, you also get free dentists and opticians. I think for a couple you get £189 -ish a week, plus housing costs paid. (Anything you have coming in will be taken off that.) My husband got told its just to get you off the unemployment register to get the figures down, but it has worked fine for us. You can talk to them on the phone and they'e really good to deal with.0
