Holiday accommodation needed in dorset for summer 2010

We are a couple with one dog looking for something extremely quiet in Dorset for our holidays this year, a cottage would be ideal something near sea or a short walk or drive away, or a caravan but not on a caravan park.

Sometimes people have caravans to let on there own land etc.

Price would be good if it was cheap rather than expensive but am open to have a look at anything.

If anyone can give us any idea as to links or have you been to anywhere like this please let us know.

We stayed at a lovely cottage close to the sea. There are a few cottages on this quiet picturesque site set in a courtyard. Here is the link http://www.uptonfarm.co.uk/

We have found some nice cottages through this site:

Often you book direct with owners.

We have stayed in some nice places in Lyme Regis, Charmouth both good for beaches and fossilling and dog walks. Also stayed inland at Wimbourne Minster - not got a dog now but we did have there and he loved that holiday as the bungalow we rented was on the edge of a park that had lots of woodland walks off each side of it!

With the cottage guide you can search for the 1 bedroomed places and dog friendly ones and dates, seems a good site!

I have used this company a couple of times and they specialise in dorset cottages
  • Had a look at most of them sites and some are really expensive, we are away for three weeks and obviously wanted to keep the cost down so may be open to widen the field of areas. Any ideas as we dont really want to stay in one particular area for more than one week.
    Thanks
