Lloyds TSB HELP!!!

Evening all,

I am hoping that all you kind people can please provide me with some help.

Back in June or July I forget when, my OH sent the first of many PPI reclaim letters to LLoyds TSB relating to a loan taken out in 1999.

Finally in NOVEMBER!!! They wrote back to say that they are up holding the complaint. They listed the calculation of how they will work out the settlement figure but not the actual figure. My OH signed the enclosed paperwork but we're still no futher along. They have confirmed that they received the signed letter on the 2nd of December, but say they have a back log.

Does anyone have any ideas how long the refund will take? or what other action we can now take.

Thanks

Butterfly xx

Hi there and well done on your claim!
I believe it can take up to 12 weeks. After that, give them a call and ask how things are going.
All the time you're watching your back, you can never look forward...
  • Thanks for your help, I was hoping that it would be sooner than that as we could really do with the money!!

    Hi Butterfly

I understand Lloyds do have a backlog of refunds to deal with, but you could write back and ask if they could send the payment for as soon as possible because your desperately in need of this.

Give them say about 14 days and tell them your getting distressed waiting as you feel they have had ample time, you can also try suggesting they pay you some sort of distress compensation and tell them your considering taking this to the FOS (of course only if you feel it will help you).

Sometimes its a push they need, hope this helps, good luck hope you receive this soon.;)

    Hi Butterflylady,

You seem to have similar dates as I do with my PPI claim. I called them some time last week and mine is now with the calculations dept. As soon as they have a figure they will send out their calculations for me to agree to and then they will transfer the money.

Might be worth giving them a call. It depends who you speak to how much of a reply you'll get but it's worth a go. I called about a month ago and they told me they were about half-way through Octobers claims at that time. The person I spoke to last week couldn't give me any lead times but was able to tell me at least that the calculations team were dealing with it.
  • Hi all,
I was sent a letter in August to say that my claim had been upheld against Lloyds and the payment would take up to 12 weeks. I am still awaiting payment, due to having had arrears at some point during my loan, they are having difficulty working out the payment. My loan is now paid in full as of last month. I am at the end of my tether and the FOS dont do much to help either!! Anyone had a similar experience??

    Hi there
    and welcome.;)
Blimey this is a long wait.......

May I ask, I note you say about arrears (sorry if I got this wrong) but they did not then pay your refund towards the arrears by any chance?

However, if this is not the case, even though I can imagine how fed up you are doing this all the time, but write to them and tell them they have had ample time and your now requesting for some payment of compensation for distress.
Cannot guarantee they will do this though, but this is just not on, waiting for as long as you have, its pathetic............5 months !!!

You can always tell them you are considering some legal advice on this matter, it may shift them but it may not, I do hope they get moving with this soon for you.

Was this resolved directly with Lloyds of through the FOS?

  • Hi Di3004

    A long wait!! dont i know it:mad:

I had arrears for only 1 month (or part month) due to my salary being incorrect and apparently because of this it makes it more difficult to calculate the payment:confused:
No wonder the banks are in such a state if they are unable to do this calculation.
I went through the Ombudsman after having had my claim rejected originally by Lloyds. It has been with them since May 2008 and because of the backlog they had, nothing was done until June/July 09 and the letter states they did not need to reach a decision as Lloyds have agreed to settle the complaint on a goodwill basis. I have spoken with the Ombudsman yesterday and again today but have to wait for someone to ring me back but all they do is email Lloyds and give them yet more time. I thought the Ombudsman had a bit of clout and would be able to make these companies pay out. But sadly, it appears not:eek:
With regards compensation, think i may ask for more, cant tell you how many phonecalls i have made both to Lloyds and the Ombudsman since i should have received payment in November. I dont hold out much hope of gettin anything though!

Its just not fair is it?
I understand the FOS say they close the file once its been resolved, but really I think (in my opinion) they should not close their files completely on cases until they have been paid out).
Saying that I did have a problem with one of mine in 2007, they did actually close the file but they did also contact the lender to chase them up on the refund for me.

    Good luck with this.;)
