megaflo immersion safety cut out

The cut out button has 'popped' twice now in three days - once on the normal immersion and once on the boost. For the last 3 years it has only cut out once. Is there anything simple I can check before I have to find someone to call out? Does it matter how high the thermostat is set? I have never altered it but did notice that it was at the highest setting of 5. The immersion heater is not always used and when it is we never use a full tank of water a day, if that makes any difference. Any help would be appreciated - thanks.
