  • Just thought I'd mention it as VB cancelled my last withdrawal request... so curtains to them!

Em's doing fine, thanks for asking. She's asked her cousin to write the sentence cards so that those of us who don't hear properly can communicate with her. It is most odd that Em is now more part of the hearing world than the deaf world because she can't communicate with us (no signing), but she can communicate with hearing people when she needs to (like her cousin). It's a weird set-up to be honest, a deaf person cut off from their own world and there's nothing any of us can do about it.

Em's asked for an appointment at the fracture clinic and is going to see if she change the plaster of paris cast if that's possible. She wants to free up fingers a little - if it's only on one hand that'll be fine... we all know a bit of ASL which is one handed (useful when you're at a party with a drink in one hand :p) and we can muddle through the BSL stuff with one hand also.

Gosh... an essay! I've get my coat and leave you with your overseas guests... your household sounds lovely tonight. :D

I remember when my sister learned ASL because she thought she could then "talk" in class without her teacher knowing what she was saying

I am sure that the fracture guys will be able to free up the fingers enough to make a difference. Positive vibes coming from this mad house for her!

  • Good to hear that VB have confirmed the withdrawal. They emailed me to confirm that my withdrawal hadn't taken place and asked me to call customer service, but since I've not played any of my own money, I don't really want to get into conversation with them :o

We're hoping the fracture clinic can help out, but are aware that getting an appointment may be difficult, although I hope they understand the request. However, priority must go for those who are affected by falls etc. It's still an ice rink in some parts around here and more snow due tonight. We're in a valley so a lot of hills for people to slip on since no grits been anywhere near them.

Enjoy the rest of your evening. Are you still making time for yoga to help with relaxation and a good nights sleep?

Hope scratching and banking are good for you tomorrow :D Good night!

Good luck with the fracture clinic - I would think that it would be a reasonable priority as it is her "speech". Let us know how you get on.

Yoga...hmm....moving swiftly on......:o Sleep is a bit hit and miss, but has been worse, so I won't complain (much!). Am going for a reasonably early night as I am doing the paper round again in the morning.

macgirl, DS is too busy having a good time to say hello to me  I work on the no news is good news assumption.....just as well really!

Banking shows that my £23.50 withdrawal from virgin has arrived, so that is excellent news. I will move that over to the debt pot and will update the signature and snowball when I get to work.

Nothing else to report - 10ps only today so far, but vb is down for maintenance, so will do that later.

I have just under £90 left in the bank until payday at the end of the month.......so another NSD needed :o

Have a good day everyone x

Aw, but as you say, no news is good news :)

Great news on the £90 credit - I wish I were :o - plus it's OH's birthday tomorrow, I'm going to rifle through the recycling and see if I can cobble together a present a la Blue Peter :rotfl:
    Have a good day!

That £90 has to last us 17 days though........we are a long way from payday just now!!

My family are used to the "cobbled together" pressies - one year I just wrapped up things from the cupboard......tin of beans....pair of clean socks.....etc......it was a bit of a laugh, if nothing else :o
