Saw the german reports yesterday, the government has told people to get 3 to 4 days food in, as they're expecting a blizzard and major disruption to power etc.. So it sounds like it's going to be even worse there.

I've tried to book an online shop, but no delivery slots available for a whole week

That means I will have to go to the shop myself instead.......and it is snowing again........hmmm.....might give the village shop my custom today instead.

Presumably they must be reducing the number of slots because deliveries are taking longer due to snow/ice, it can't be easy for them in this weather. Hope your local shop has stocked up.

I think it is just that more people are doing online grocery shops because they don't want to head out themselves......we're still seeing a reasonable number of tesco trucks out and about delivering, so I think it is just the additional demand.

Sally, your shops open early! Ours don't open until 10am, although I am sure people will be queuing up outside before then!

I have made a shopping list and will head out somewhere in an hour or so......

  • Good luck with the shopping. Our Tesco was bedlam yesterday as everyone realised they would have to go out. There were a fair few whoopsies though as apparently it had been quite empty all week.

  • Hi hypno, Not read all of your diary, just the opening post.I think you are right to focus on "me", that is "you"!! Without you being ok, you can not achieve what youj want to. Ive learnt that too. My goal in 2010 was to get to the gym every week. The only reason that hasn't happened is the snow and the small fact that dd's school is closed, nevertheless it will happen once this spell has finished. Diet and sleep are other areas, and also to work smart, learning to manage time so that dd and I have quality time together not always taken over by work. Good for you Hypno, and good luck in 2010 with beating your dedbt.

Hi Hypno! Hello everyone! Wow, there's a lot happened - I was going to say, for DS, but it sounds like everyone's on the go in your house, hypno. Hope Tesco's isn't too bad - I had a big delivery in the middle of my illness, which is only now starting to run out, plus people have been doing bits of shopping for me, and I've still got loads of my normal food in - dried beans, rice, that sort of thing. I'm sure I won't starve just yet.

Been in any snowball fights yet?

Hi PaF - welcome to my piece of (in)sanity!

KC - lovely to see you back, I hope you are truly on the mend now!

Well, have done Tescos and I have to say it was much quieter than a usual Sunday morning! Shelves were full, and the car park was pretty empty!! Certainly not what I expected. So I have done a fortnight's shopping, spent £91 of my remaining funds, and didn't get as stressed as I could have otherwise done.....so success, I reckon.

The only things I bought that were not on my list were two Terry's chocolate oranges.......being sold off for 60p each. Well, it seemed a shame not to :o So now, they're not Terry's but MINE!!
