Hi se and sally! The good news for me was that OH surprisingly volunteered to help DD with the paper rounds, so I have taken advantage of the extra hour and done the shopping list and some number crunching......I will probably help with the paper rounds tomorrow, over the next few weeks we have lots to cover between us so it is a case of all doing our bit in order that everything is done before school/work.......ah well, its all in the interests of a bit of extra money, and it will keep DS's rounds available to him when he returns, which is the main thing - I was worried that if we said he wouldn't be here for so many weeks, the newsagents would give his round to someone else permenantly.....
Well done on the bingo win, sally! I am sitting here trying to work out how to get the next batch of MSE money in - sadly, it involves getting off my backside and doing car boots or something, but it is just too cold for that sort of thinking right now
Right, DD and OH just got home, so time to put the kettle on I think!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Which scratchies have double ones today?
Nice that OH offered this morning to do the paper roundI think I have already sold off anything of any value, have a few last bits to stick on ebay but I won't bother until beg of feb as no-one has any money to buy luxuries and they won't make as much.

My OH asked why I wasn't transferring so much from our mse a/c's last week, so need to find more cash sources too!!
Also I've got the 5k target on the challenge and my only way of raising it is savings on the budget items I have control over and MSE cash, so it's going to be tough/impossible unless I can find some new things.0 -
Sally x, it's the fishy scratchcards, like butlins & littlewoods.
Just realised my 5k challenge is like your 10k mse challenge Hypno.0 -
thanks se999
Im doing the Virgin and Butlins ones. Although the virgin ones are pretty pointless now aren't they? Although I can spend my winnings on buying bingo cards if I understand correctlyI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

sally it is st miniver scratches that have a double whammy today so if you do butlins or littlewoods, then press F5 and have a free 10p or whatever!
I agree that January is not always the best time to be selling on stuff.....I will use that as my excellent reason for not getting round to it!
I think I will be aiming for Easter as being my "big push" on all things car boot/ebay.....and perhaps have a summer challenge to get the bulk of my MSE money in.
On that basis, therefore, I need to make the most of the winter to do work on the downloads.....it fell a bit by the wayside in the last quarter of last year, due to many reasons, so we need to focus a bit more on getting money in from that - after all, the bulk of the work is done, it is down to me to capitalise on that.......first work session therefore diarised for tomorrow evening.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I think its a good enough excuse Hypno...its really not worth the effort layed out to sell things this month when the return is so little
Im thinking about becoming an ebay trading assistant or whatever its called so that you can sell things on other peoples behalf. Ive sold on ebay for years and I am sure there are people out there who would like to but have no idea. Only thing is there really isn't much to be made there these days as the fee's are so highI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Good Morning
I was put off Ebaying as I thought people would not be spending this month, but I have quite a few bids on things..... I know people are staying home and avoiding the shops due to the weather, so perhaps they are buying online instead
Have a good day everyone!0 -
se, yes basically my £10k challenge is an extension of my usual "make £10 a day" challenge.......I thought I would do it on an annual target instead of a monthly target because some months I way-exceed (great terminolgy lol) my £360 a month target and sometimes I struggle, so aiming for an overall target might suit me.....
There is a separate "make £100 into £10,000" challenge on the "up your income" board, which a few on DFW are doing and which appears in lots of sigs. I think the original aim was to use your £100 to invest into stuff you then sold on at a profit, then ploughing back your profit into another batch of stuff to sell.....but it seems that it is actually a combination of doing that plus the usual MSE methods of scratches, overtime, slice the pie, dooyoo etc......
However it is done, and whatever "challenge" we are on, I am all for people making extra money :T
chev....yes, the weather is causing many problems now - it is a month since this extreme snap started......and of course we are running out of salt etc as it seems we have more cold weather forecast.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
