And he is very small, so not too many calories. Unlike George Clooney who would be loads of calories, but probably worth it :o

    crumpets - hhmmmmm yummy

    marmite _pale_
  • Hi H

Well done with the mystery shopping - I keep saying it but need to look into this. Especially if there is free caffine:rotfl:

I love pikelets too, (or crumpets to everyone else!). But I don't do marmite:eek: Chocolate spread and banana is delish. Of course I wouldn't dream of eating this at the mo whilst I am on a diet. (NOT!!).

Hope your kids have a great time in Norway. My older DD who is 8 has gone off on a school trip for 3 days. I have to say if this is what letting go is all about it doesn't feel good at the moment:( Younger DD was sobbing last night. Anyway I digress !

Hope the knot in your stomach is starting to ease a little and that you are getting some sleep. x

Oh all this talk of hot stuff with butter is making me hungry. I was going to have some iced gems with my coffee, but now i'm thinking hot toast with choccie spread. If i had crumpets in, i'd have them with honey.

Well, I need to keep my grocery budget down as low as possible so I will be doing all of the above!

I have done my mystery shop - will input it when I get home - and the coffee is just what was needed, even if it was a brisk 10 min walk each way to get it! (exercise as well.......how good am I?)

I will have some toast shortly, and dinner tonight is pasta with some pasta sauce that I got from the latest bzzzz campaign, so another nice cheap filling meal there. Tomorrow's lunch will be courtesy of another M/S so I am doing alright this week.......makes up for the expense of the coffee and pastries I bought earlier in the week :o

Next week when the children are away, I am going to work my way through all the portions of leftovers that have been put in the freezer - so a week of surprise meals.....but that in turn will keep the budget intact, and will create some much needed freezer space for some proper batch cooking that I can do later in the week.

One thing that works for me when I have a house, is to have a shelf in an obvious place in the kitchen where I put the things that need to be used up quickly and getting near sellby, or things I've overstocked up on (normally tinned tuna on offer), to make sure I use it up at a reasonable rate.

I also have a space in the fridge for things that need using quickly. Plan for next house is to not overfill the freezer so much, and do the same with that, but I can't resist woopsie bargains :o
  • seems to have gone very quiet on here since lunchtime, getting a bit worried....
