my divorce will shortly be finalisied and am looking at having £200,000 cash.
I have moved in with my new partner and share the costs of rent etc 50/50
we like his place and see no reason to move.
any ideas what i should do with the cash settlement as we dont really want to move from his rented place?

Track down a reputable local IFA at www.unbiased.co.uk.
It's a huge amount and gives you access to a wide range of savings, investment and taxation opportunities if you've got a professional on board who knows what they're doing.0

            newcastlebelle,
If you are keen on hunting mammals with dogs, by all means hunt down an IFA, otherwise do your own research for savings and investing.
For short or long term go with Cash ISA's, and a variety of A/C's up to a maximum one year tie in.
National Savings Index Linked for 3 or 5 year tie in.
Even have some fun with Premium Bonds.
Longer term there is everything from my favourite, gold, to a whole range of products that don't come with 5 stars from the Plain English Campaign.
