Will Morrisons refund for dvd?

My wife bought me a DVD from Morrisons for xmas.

Unfortunately I already had it. Will Morrisons refund her?

The reason I'm asking is that in Morrisons the DVDs aren't sealed (you take the case to the counter and they put the DVD in it for you)

So there is know way they could know if I have watched it.

Depends entirely on their policy although they are not legally obliged to.

DVDs usually aren't covered as an anti-piracy measure although it doesn't hurt to ask.

I doubt it really.
I bought a DVD for my son from them when it was very cheap, but I wasn't sure whether he'd get it as a birthday present from someone else the next week so wanted to be sure they'd accept a return.
I paid at the checkout with my shopping while another assistant went to get it. On being handed it I saw it was open and so asked about returning it (i'd finished typing in my PIN by then and so transaction was done). The joke was they said they wouldn't even take it back right there and then!!
"We don't take them back" I was told, "you could have copied it". When? I'd walked from the checkout to the CS desk accompanied by a store assistant. Oh it was so frustrating, as I was being denied a refund on something that hadn't left the store, and something I would have specifically asked about if I'd seen beforehand exactly what I was buying (an opened box). Eventually they refunded my money, but not before a moan about "filling in the book".
So it might be worth a try for an exchange, but I wouldn't get your hopes up, sorry!
