If you are on electoral roll then its usually enough.0 -
you do get a Choice of Connect debit card or cash card
You get a debit card automatically when opening this account now.wontfallforit wrote: »A "cash card account", at Barclays or elsewhere, is not a full current account. It is literally cash-in, cash out. No debit card facility (in in some cases, no direct debits/standing orders either). Is that what you were in the market for??
Current accounts = debit card of some type, often a chequebook, and ability to apply for an overdraft (whether you're accepted for it or not is irrelevant), and full DD/STO entitlements. Hence the need for photo ID.
It has a debit card facility. It has standing orders and direct debit facilities, along with online banking, but no overdraft and chequebook. You need a full driving license. They will accept a provisional if you are under 18.
No matter what age you are, you can use a provision driving licence. Barclays is one example.
Some banks let you use a provisional licence if you are under 18, namely RBS and Natwest. Barclays allow you to use it
It's a good idea to get ID, as it will be useful for going into clubs/pubs, proof of age, employment to show that you have the right to work in the UK, etc...0 -
You actually got me thinking. I still don't want a passport or driving license that i will never use, but can you have a national identity card voluntarily?0

I registered my interest here and I'm getting my application pack in the post and then going for my appointment in April - even though I don't live in the North East or Londo - just managed to skip the queue.
And it's only £30 compared to £90+ for a passport - mine is due for renewal in a few years and I don't really want to pay what they're going to be charging then!!!
I've seen people using them in airports and they seem to whizz straight through immigration so going to use mine for holiday in May:DNoli nothis permittere te terere

When I joined Barclays, I didn't have photo ID, but my friend who already had an account there vouched for me so I was able to open one too.0
