Mine also failed yesterday. Vauxhall Astra Estate.

Failed on a cracked number plate, faulty number plate bulb, and emissions. He also told me the lambda sensor needed changing. I have never even heard of one until this week!!!

He has quoted me £47 for the MOT, and £74 for the sensor, number plate, bulb and labour. Quite reasonable??

    Hello samcat

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.

  • hey i have a Peugeot 106 zest 2 1998 . and i have just done my mot and it has just failed on only emissions tho , the annoying thing is is it that it passed every emmsions test by flying colours apart from the one labelled lambda where it got 1.207 , do you think i should buy a new sensor or any advice appreciated :) ?

the £53 for the sensor seems about right but the £43 for labour is a bit steep considering its only a 5 minute job to change.

Have you ever tried to change a lambda sensor in a 10 year old car?

That appears to be a bargain for the job especially if its the pre-cat, manifold sensor. I'd query if its a genuine part as fitting a cheaper, non-oem part is a waste of time on these.

And I too think it's very fair, if you have no other way of actioning this, ie, a mate, more weighted as I have never paid for any repairs to my cars, yet,:beer:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
