i saw earlier posts about holiday bookings and looked at
https://www.travelrepublic.co.uk and saw some reasonably priced hotels in amsterdam, btw could be .com0 -
This one looks good. We were in Amsterdam last week and this hotel is very central, ie in Dam Square. We liked the look of it. The restaurant looks very nice and a bit on the expensive side.

However, we always stay at the Luxer Hotel a little further up the street. The Luxer is 3 stars, but we like it.0 -
Crowne Plaza near Central Station or Holiday Inn a bit out of town near The Rai conference centre.
Or try https://www.hotels.nl
for a comprehensive choice.0 -
HI,
I can highly recommend the Heemskerk
http://www.easytobook.com/en/amsterdam-hotels/heemskerk-hotel-amsterdam/
It's on the back of the large concert hall (concertgerbau sp?) and some of the rooms back onto a delightful little round garden area at the back.
We stayed in a room with a spa bath and balcony, had breakfast on the garden terrace and had a lovely time.
Very trad dutch style but with wider than average staircases (LOL), BIG beds and lovely owners.
It's small and not at all corporate - a real taste of A'dam with super staff and a great distric for avoiding the rougher side of the city.
I would just ring them direct (we did and got a great deal) rather than use an agent.
Good luck & have a great time

One of the travel guides said the Hotel Hortus by the Hortus Botanicus was good, so I stayed there for 3 nights. I wish I hadn't because the owner is a drug dealer and he was selling drugs to young guests to whom he'd been 'recommended'. These youngsters were racing up and down the stairs, shouting and screaming and banging doors all night long. Please don't stay there if you want a peaceful night's sleep. (I wrote to complain to the travel guide- think it was Lonely Planet.)0

I'd recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too. Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
Hope that helps0 -

this 5 star without a doubt, straight across the road from the station, great big king size beds massive bathrooms, sky tv (should you want it) Very safe as you need your room card to access the lifts.
Scout around and you should be able to get a good deal on it.0 -
Try https://www.weekendjeweg.nl for some great deals. Click on the UK flag for the English version.
There is a small service fee on top of the price & remember to exclude their insurance. You can get a price reduction with airmiles but I think it has to be the Dutch scheme.
Prices are usually for 2 nights inclusive of breakfast & some have the option of an extra night.
Enjoy your trip
