Right then, i've had final offers from both mbna cards.
One states that it includes interest of a random figure.
They are apparently sending out a copy of the breakdown of figures offered.
I'm not impressed with either of the goodwill gestures so off to the FOS....

    Question?
Do i wait for the SAR, so i have actual facts and figures before going to FOS, or do i start FOS process and forward anything relevant as and when i receive SAR?

Thanks again for your help gang.:T
Oh btw, Barclaycard have coughed up in full :j

    Hi there.:D

May I ask if that was the final decision with the offer, if not you could write back first to request they consider a higher amount.;)
Or you could tell them, you strongly believe you were mis sold with the reasons you given them and request they pay ALL you have paid in PPI andn interest etc, its up to you.

Otherwise, yes take them to the FOS now.

If you want to to wait for further information to come back within the SAR is entirely up to you, hopefully something useful will come back where you can photocopy and enclose with the FOS complaints form, or you could send at a later time just as long as you have a ref number from the FOS.
Just as long as you do this before the 6 months timescale you have from the final decision.;) Good luck.

Well done and Congratulations with Barclaycard.:T:beer:

We have had 3 successful reclaims from MBNA and I asked for calculations to see if we agreed I have the info back for one of these which is:

    PPC refund £1562.23
    Contract interest £34.29

Interest refund seems low to me and no 8% stat interest. Any help appreciated.

Hope you get a good outcome surfichick, good luck

    This is great hunni, Congratulations.:beer::T:j:beer:

  • We have had 3 successful reclaims from MBNA
Did you have to go through FOS?
MBNA are giving me the run around with goodwill gestures as final response :(
    Successfully reclaimed PPI:
    Barclaycard Visa = £744 | Natwest Loan = £1,146 | MBNA Visa = £643 | MBNA MCard = £279 | Natwest MCard = £62 | Marbles MCard = £302

No we didnt go through FOS I phoned MBNA and just kept refusing what they were offering one one of the claims we started at £1200 I think, ended up at £4911 (incl cont interest) however I pressed for more interest and 8% stat interest and was told we were already getting a lot back. I said that I wanted a full breakdown of the refund, still waiting on this for this refund, but had one above for different MBNA reclaim which doesnt look right.

I would like to point out others do not agree with phoning, keeping everything to writing.
  • Ok, thanks for the info.

  • Had a reply from my request for a breakdown of refunds. There are 3 columns: 1 for premium paid, 1 for interest (presumably on each premium as amounts are low), final column is statement balance, and this is where my question comes from. If this is actual statement balance, it bears no resemblance to my actual cc balance. For example, jan09 has a balance of 2.5k, yet my card has balance of neaarly 6k! Is it worth putting in a SAR request before go any further?

    Hi thegrinner,
Looking at the sheets we've had back there are 4 columns
Date, PPC, PPC balance that interest can be charged on & interest due back to customer.
Dont get it either, sorry dont know what to suggest for you hopefully someone with more experience can offer some decent advice. Good Luck
  • The first 2 columns (premium, interest) are fairly self explanatory. As I said tho, if the third column (statement balance) is the balance of my card, something is amiss, as the figures are nowhere near the balance on my card.
  • Sent off forms to FOS this week.
Looking forward to a positive result, fingers crossed. They're in the wrong and they know it.
Had result from Natwest Loan £1146, thankyou MSE'ers :)
