Advice on my rights with HP

Options
Hi Guys,

I just joined, seems like a great place with lots of people with knowledge on various subjects.

Hope someone can help me with this:

I managed to Purchase an HP laptop for a very cheap price on their website - I did suspect it might have been an error as it was so cheap but they confirmed the order about 10 hours later and took payment too.

About a week later I have received an e-mail saying that my order has been cancelled.

See the e-mails below.

I just wondered where I stood with my rights here.

Dear Thank you for shopping at the HP Store.
We have received your order, and will proceed to verify the order. The majority of orders are checked and accepted within a few hours, and once complete; you will receive an order confirmation email from us when the order has been approved.
Occasionally, we need to carry out additional checks which may result in a delay of 1-2 working days in the acceptance/delivery of the order. Once the additional checks are successfully completed, the order confirmation will be sent to you.

Delivery Timelines:
Orders which are confirmed before 16:00pm will be shipped on the next working day (Monday to Friday), provided the goods are in stock.
If you have chosen to have a product configured to order, the approximate delivery is 12 working days from the date of order confirmation. However this is subject to the availability of specific components.

You can check the status of your order 1223-XXXXXXXX-001 at anytime, by logging onto HP Store, via xxxxx, and clicking on “Track my order”.

Well, you said yourself it looked like a mistake, and they are refunding you, so you're not going to be out of pocket.

Have you phoned the number given (0845 604 2921) to see what they say? It's usually only AFTER delivery that they then can't ask you to rectify any mistake made.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Obvious mistake really (that would've been bargain of the century!!!) and you can't blame them for cancelling when they noticed what had gone wrong.Don't think you'll be able to do anything

Give up now, you have no right to the product and have been extremely deceptive in making the order when you full well know that it is a mistake. You didnt suspect, thats lying, you knew end of.

Your legal rights are zero, Search Distance selling regulations 2000 and read the OFT guide for it and you will see that my info is correct.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

you have no rights as a contract was never made, their website is only an invitation to purchase, the payment system is automated but the order has to be completed for the contract to be made. Had they of delivered it then realised im sure it would have been a different story. I dont blame you for giving it a go though, id of ordered 10 lol
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
