Hmmm, are we supposed include the interest? I'm not. I know if I paid £470 off the debt, it wouldn't be quite £470 if I include the interest, but can't be asked with that.

Don't know if this helps, last challenge I wanted to pay a chunk of my credit card, say £500, so I didn't account for any interest, just added my payments up to make my target amount. This month however I want to clear my overdraft, so I am including interest otherwise the amounts wouldn't tally.

Don't know if I've explained that very well! I think its really your choice as to what you find easiest/more motivational to calculate.

    Hope Pap agrees! :o

I agree, don't worry about interest. Just tell me what you have paid towards in for your 'chunk' or debt. If it means £20 in interest repayment not to worry. It just means on here you may hit you target get still have the £20 interest to pay on your account iyswim. Just please keep an eye on your main accounts and not use this challenge/the figures on the front page to calculate your DFD by :A

  • Yeah... I have paid £84.94 today. This has cleared the balance of my storecard including the interest charges.

So glad to finally get rid of it. It is all down to this thread. I would have just cleared small amounts every month and not cleared it this quickly.

Will now save to pay my car insurance and mot which are both due at the end of March.

I will contiune to read this thread and hope to join the next one too.

PAP- could you add that I now want to save £1500 by the end of the challenge!! Ideally I'd like it separated from what I've done so far as in my signature! Thanks for your inspiring challenge. These challenges have really helped me make it!
