PAP- is it still helping giving the balance for you or would you prefer just the amount paid? Thanks so much for doing such a great job :T

Hi Jellie, no balances are good, especially if I am having an off day and cant either work it out or use a calcuator :rotfl: Its just when I cant see the amount payed as its in with a huge amount of writing. Thats hard when you have so many posts to go through :D

I am doing nothing its all of you thats paying it off. I cant believe were have already nearly payed £4k off :j

Hey guys, well done everyone whos sticking at the regular payments, think mine will be paid off in a lump sum.

Do whatever works for you Ric, I must say next 'month' (ie tomorrow onwards) I think mine will be one huge amount. PaD's are a good way of acknowledging your debt but you cant see where you debt stands because there is always something waiting to come off your outsanding amount :(

It is probably easier that way. I'm doing a mixture of PADs plus larger sums (hopefully) because I'm aiming to clear a big amount and need to throw everything I can at doing that. I have spending money each day which I PAD if I don't use it. I have sums set aside for groceries etc and periodically see if I have enough left over to throw at my debt too.

The most important thing is to find the ways to clear debts that suit you!

Yep i agree, it works better for different people, it would be easier to PAD with a weekly income as you will never be further than 7 days from payday but im fortnightly so 14 days could be alot of intrest paid when a lump would have made it cheaper if you know what i mean? Each to there own but i think mine will be a lump sum...just a question of when :)

  • Stickystar - have a look on the up your income board, there's loads of ideas there.

Personally I find my money each day by not frittering. Its the money I would just blow during the day on coffee and rubbish. So I do a proper grocery shop each week to include sarnie bits for work and things like that.

Sorry for the brief response, need to get to work. Good luck, Pen x

Thanks Pen, this is something I really need to do do better at, and I'll take a good look at the up your income board for some insipriration. Thanks so much, everyone on here seems so nice :A

  • Hi,

Not made a payment this week :o but fingers crossed I will be able to by the end of next week.

My plan is to pay off a HUGE chunk on payday (200.00) and then make my PAD's.

I totted up how much i've got on gift cards which is £100.00, I wish I could just cash them in! oh well ...

  • Just seen this thread and can I join.

I have too many debts some large and some small. So Im going to start with my smallest so psychologically it will feel that I am making some progress. (I know really I should be trying to pay off my barclay card but the money I can save will feel like a drop in the ocean).

Anyhow I owe £400.00 on a Capital One Credit Card and Ive paid 25.00 today.

  • Hi everyone,

In the last couple of days I have paid off £82.28
    100 day challenge £932.28 paid /£1,732.28:eek:
  • Guess the cc companies don't like you making extra payments - my fixed monthly payment of £25 has now been reduced to £15. Cheeky or what??? The icing on the cake has to be the interest on my debt going up by £1.00 even though my debt has decreased by about £200 - how does that work?? I was told it was because this month was a 33 day month and not 28 days..

I am so determined to get rid of this debt. I can't wait for the next pay day so I can get rid of more of my debt..

Sorry, I had to have a bit of a rant. I haven't really told any friends/family about the size of my debt or my attempts at paying it off so there is no-one I can rant to except on here. Feeling calmer already :D
