Restrictive Extended Warranty

Hi,
I'm very new to this game, so hope I'm in the right place doing the right thing!
Basically, I have an extended warranty with Domestic and General for a telly they've now agreed to replace. They've offered me a set amount as payment to replace the telly, but state they have to buy it for me through their partner which is Comet. When I asked about the Comet price match policy I was told it doesn't apply, so forget the sales and shopping around, I have to buy the telly at the price Domestic and General give me. The telly I am looking at costs £150 more at Comet than John Lewis (where you also get a free 5 year warranty). Can Domestic and General do this? Can they be so restrictive on their price and sourcing when it makes people pay way above the going rate?
Thanks.

What do the terms and conditions of the warranty say?
Although, you are getting it for 'free' (aside the cost of the warranty) so not really cause to complain - are you looking at a different model to the one they suggest you replace it with?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Most places do this, including home insurance policys, they get a huge discount from Comet, you need to read your T+C's.0
