fridge freezer - question about operating tempature?

Quick question for anyone in the know.

Does a fridge freezer stop working if the ambient temperature in the room drops to low? We're having an extension done and the fridge has been temporarily relocated to a room with no heating. The house also had no heating at all for about 5 days and the bread in the freezer seemed to be slightly defrosted but everything else seems fine.

Now that the house is warmer it seems to be working better again and hence the question. Its only got to last a few more weeks before we get a new one once the kitchen is ready so we're not concerned about getting it fixed if it develops a fault. Just trying not to get food poisoning :)

edit: And as people keep them in unheated garages i'm presuming that they should be ok.
