Help please car problems
hi,
i have an astra 17 dti 2001 and in the last couple of months when you stop start (like in a traffic jam) my revs go up on there own to about 1200 then drop. Ive had vacuum pipe checked (no fault codes only glow plugs)removed and cleaned camshaft sensor ,2 garages have looked at it now and still same problem ...cant keep chucking money down the drain any input will be much received.

just a quick goolge found the above, might help. You may find more with more searching.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
lean on the Air flow meter whilst the car is running. does it change the sound of the engine? indicates that's on the way out if so.
Alternatively, check your throttle body to make sure it's properly clean. Both of these are common faults.

I have exactly the same problem on my Merc 3.0TD. No idea what's causing it, the EGR is spotless and the throttle position sensor isn't the problem either. Must be an ECU thing, as the throttle is electronic.0
