I think I might of gone over by credit limit—should I let my bank know

I think I may of gone over my CC limit but only by about £5-10 as the items haven't yet appeared on my online statement I can't say for sure.
I know if I go over I get a penalty and it affects my credit score as I did it by accident a few years back. Am I best just ringing my bank and letting them know—are they likely to let me off with this one?

You are probably better off making an immediate payment to our credit card by the quickest method possible and hopefully that payment will hit your account before your other transactions - does your credit card accept faster payments?

The best thing for you to do if you bank with the bank your card is with, would be to immediately pay £20 or so from your account to your card - barclays to barclaycard for example will be instant, and will hopefully hit before the transactions do.
If this is not the case, make an immediate payment anyway, you may find if you are not over limit on the statement date you are ok.0
