ASDA Mobiles

"What a kerfuffle!!" I went to a further away ASDA store than my usual one as it is a Superstore version and while there I noticed a cheap mobile for £22 with £10 ASDA mobile credit included. Seeing it was clearly a bargain I snapped it up but when waiting in the service desk for 10 minutes the attendent hunted around for a little while and said "We haven't got it. Next!". I asked why there was loads of cases when there wasn't any and she just explained that they get random deliveries all day so they don't bother to take the cases off. Annoying enough but hey ho.

Then at my regular ASDA today I saw the same mobile but no mention of the credit so asked at the desk where the attendant insisted it didn't come with £10 credit so I asked why it does at the other ASDA so she called her supervisor who announced again that it doesn't come with credit, then she changed and suddenly it did but they didn't have any in stock. But they did have it in stock and after checking again she confirmed it did have the credit and it was in stock. When I got home there was no mention of the credit in the box and the customer service line was unanswered so went back to the shop once again.

None of the people at the service desk had a clue about the credit to the point of them shrugging their shoulders. Eventually things resorted to me suggesting I phone ASDA mobile on the customer service desk to explain things. To get the number for this though, we had to use the internet connection on one of their phones. They gave a perfectly normal explanation of when I would get the £10 credit and how so things are eventually now sorted all the while the store staff were standing about talking.

I'm so annoyed about how little they train the staff about the products in their department to the point where I have to suggest how to sort out their problems. I go in often and see that it's always the same people in the same departments so it's not as if they move about.

On the plus side, ASDA mobile customer service is great and their tariffs are the cheapest around!

Does the credit go straight on the phone when you use it first time?
If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 7555
  • It's a bit convoluted, but basically once you've used the £1 already provided and top up £5 or more, the £10 goes on then. :)
