a wireless one...

Hi

My brother out a new hard drive in my laptop a week or so ago... I dropped it:eek:, but since I have had it back I cannot connect with my wireless, finally tonight after messing about it is saying my wireless is turned off (how can that be) will it be different wireless now I have a new hard drive????
I have an acer 3050 and I cant find a wireless on off button anywhere!!!

Any help much appreciated

  • No the wireless is still the same, it's probably just turned off in the software. On your function buttons along the top of the keyboard is there one that looks like some kind of wireless symbol? A lot of laptops use a function key to toggle the wireless on and off.

    did he install all the drivers, the wireless button location will be in the manual.

    What is the model of your laptop ?

    Also quick check go to Start / Control Panel / System / [Hardware Tab] / Device Manager

    Are there any items listed with a yellow exclamation mark

    There is a whole bunch of Acer utilities for these settings (eSettings Management) which controls the wireless function (assuming you can find no switch)
