London Long Weekend

Hi everyone
I am planning to take the good lady for a long weekend in London over the first weekend in August. Can anyone help with the following please,
1. Where is the best place to find a decent hotel, looking for 4* at least. Is there a good website site out there that offers the best prices?
2. Any suggestions of good touristy things to do.
3. Where is the best place to get theatre/comedy/gig tickets for the best price.
Any advice you can give concerning the above questions or anything else for that matter would be very appreciated.
Many thanks
Marcus

Why not take a one of those big bus tours around London. I'm a born and bred londoner myself but did this a couple of years ago with my son. We both loved it, there was so much about London that I didn't know about which was right under my nose! Its about £18 for an adult I think, but you also get a mini cruise down the thames for the price as well.
London Eye is good for half-hour look over London. Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey does tours. I actually work in Whitehall (Westminster) so know that neck of the woods quite well and if I was showing a tourist around I would start at Westminster to see big ben, parliament square, westminster abbey, then walk down Whitehall past the Cenataph (where queen lays the wreaths), past Downing street, past the guards, past all sorts of Government office buildings, leading down to Trafalgar Square where Nelson's column is (although he is covered up at the moment due to maintenance work or something!).
Just a few thoughts, hope they help.
Can't recommend any hotels though.0 -
I had a weekend in London recently and booked a theatre break with superbreak.com. We stayed in a 4* hotel and I think it was really good value.
Just compared the price of a theatre break for 3 nights on superbreak.com to just hotel accomodation for 3 nights on Expedia and it's quite a bit cheaper on superbreak even with theatre tickets included.
We also got 10% off through nhsdiscounts.com as my OH works for the NHS , but even without that it's still a bargain.Same old same old since 20080
