Orange

Options
Hi everyone

Wonder if you can help!

I ordered a phone with orange yesterday using my phone fund (£30) and the offered and agreed to next day delivery and then sent me an order confirmation to the same.

I have been sat in all day because they say someone needs to be present to sign for it and low and behold.....no phone

So I called the courier company - not only have orange not handed the phone to the courier company, they only labelled it up in their warehouse today at 11:31 so unless they paid for same day I wouldn't have got it under any circumstances! i'm fuming!

I rang orange who confirmed all this and the guy barely apologised and said i should get it tomorrow (they had 1 hour to get it to the courier otherwise I was told it would be a wednesday delivery!) so I asked for some compensation, suggesting some credit on my phone for the inconvienance. He stated that its not orange's policy to compensate for time off work..I said i'm wasn't asking for compo for that but for Orange not providing the service they said they would. he repeated that orange's policy is not to compensate for time off work (so not listening) I asked to speak to the manager who I was told was unavailable.

No am I right or have orange broken their contract of sale? surely they can't get away with having me sat in for two days waiting for a phone they haven't even posted as agreed??

what does everyone think?

    what time did you order?
  • 10am yesterday, just seems harsh that they offered it, haven't delivered (even to the courier yet!) and i've gotta take another day off work and their attitude was its my problem!

    so cross!
  • Why not have it delivered at work instead? Or wait until you're not at work? I don't see it as Orange's fault that you've chosen to take a day off work awaiting the delivery.

Your order would have been processed the next working day (Picking and collection from Banbury)

Theres 2 threads that are the same, coudl we not merge the 2 together
  • thanks for the responses guys, i work at a hospital so i can't have anything delivered there, i needed it sooner rather than later because my old one is broken, i'm just annoyed that they offered me delivery today and then didn't deliver! i don't understand why they offered it if they couldn't provide?.

(DCFC79 - yeah i posted on here and the mobile thread i think they moved it over-how do i merge?)
  • I ordered a phone from Orange recently and the courier company sent a text to say what day it would be delivered, meaning that I could change that day if not convenient. Did that not happen with you? Unfortunately the problem I had was that the courier couldn't find my house so just took it back to the depot and waited for me to contact them. I tore them off a strip but that wasn't Orange's fault.
