This is a really touching thing to do and I'm glad that you do it. Having a blanket that their baby has been wrapped in can make such a difference to a grieving parent.
Best thing for you to do is ask freecycle, I know lots of knitting groups in my area that get loads of wool from them. You could also ask local charity shops to see if they get any that they can't sell?
