sometimes we get bags left for us to put clothes in i only trust the ones like "great ormond street hospital" as we get alot put threw our door which are profit making charitys from abroad i dont mind things going abroad but some only split proceeds with charitys.

sorry but even the great olmond street hospital bags of clothes are sold abroad, and the charities that on these bags only get % of the rag value for the clothes...

90% of the charity bags that you get through the door dont even get to the shop, they get sold straight on to rag merchants which buy it by the kg

a very high % of the clothes donated are SOLD abroad.... so if you donate lets say a t'shirt.. that t'shirt isnt given to someone abroad it is sold...to a rag merchant and then they sell the items in the markets...

 There isn't a way of giving actual folding money or bags of coins via JustGiving, but for non-cash donations if you click on 'find a charity' on their home page, you get a little information about the charity (assuming they've signed up to JustGiving).

If you then click on the link to that charity, there is a link to 'make a donation'. That gives you the choice of either regular or one-off payments, with or without Gift Aid.

If it is cash you want to give, then some charities would give you their bank details so that you could pay in over the counter at a bank. That's if you're not in a position to go to their office and hand it over.

I haven't gone all the way through to making a donation, but I have found the charities DH and I work for that way, and I've received several anonymous donations that way which I had no idea were coming, so I know it works!

the justgiving site is easy to donate to, you just need to find the charity of your choice.

If you are stuggling so much to find a charity to come pick up, why not either chuck it all on ebay and donate the proceeds or if you just want rid of it, put it on freecycle. Just google freecycle for your local area. There are always lots of families and elderly people at this time of year desperate for clothing to keep warmer, especially families with little or no income so you still know it would be put to good use

i just looked at my justgiving page.

If you enter your selected charity in the search box, it will take you to their page and there is a very clear DONATE NOW box.

If your chosen charity doesnt have a page on there (which is entirely possible) then choose another one. There are millions of charites out there, all very deserving

 I'm struggling to make sense of what you're saying.

I've found it, queen of cheap has found it - it's NOT on the JustGiving home page because you have to choose which charity you want to donate to, but not sure what you are missing?

Alternatively get in touch with your favourite charity and ask if they're planning to register with JustGiving, or registered with any of the other sites which allow people to donate online. You'll probably find that information if the charity has its own website.

We only registered with JustGiving when someone said they would like to ask people to donate to us rather than give them wedding presents! Haven't looked back since, but needed the impetus to get us to do it.

I have my local air ambulance charity (northants and warks) coming to pick up bags of clothes later in the week. Our local council don't let you put clothes in the recycle bin anymore, but give us bi-monthly air ambulance bags to fill with clothes etc.

Also for larger household items we have Sofawise who will come and collect items and then these get sold to people on certain benefits to furnish their homes.

I can't afford to make cash donations to charity so do my bit this way.
