is it broken.
Currently got a CD in it which I am unable to eject, even using the paperclip in the small hole method. The CD started to play but then I got an error message in windows media player and it shut down. Managed to eject it when I'd turned off the PC and then turned it back on again. Tried again and the same thing has happened.
Have had a message to use F12 during start up but wasn't sure what to do after so didn't do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try playing it with this:

It may work, unless it has copy protection.
What is the error message in media player?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
abwsco, check the cd drives manufacturers website there may be a new firmware release that needs to be updated on the drive.0

I think it just said it encountered a problem and needed to close. The CD is still in the tray as I can't get it to eject. It's also not showing if I go to My Computer. The CD is a bought one that has previously played OK.
It's a Dell Dimension 2400 if that helps. Haven't tried for any driver updates yet.0
