Bank Charges I just don't get it

Heya someone asked me to post my message on here rather than another thread thing.

Heya,
I know this is an ongoing issue which has probably been talked about etc in depth but I've just com eto understand bank charges through bitter experience. I've been charged £70 in total for going over my overdraft - its for numerous times I've taken out money and just not looked at my balance so it is my fault but as soon as I realised the money was put back in but they are still charging. I asked the bank what could be done etc. Even though the money has been put back in so I am not over my overdraft before the time the charge was due to happen. Legally theres probably nothing I can do... cna people get refunds on bank charges or do i have to suck it up. Also I've heard that you can get a refund if you are in 'hardship'? what does this mean and how do I tel hte bank that I maybe in this category. I have been so naive about finances but now I want to take control. Sorry if these questions are silly or make no sense.
