I was attempting to return an unwanted rug via Interparcel, as my local courier had let me down, so selected Interparcel, browsed to their site, selected Quote & Book, then TNT UK Express 'Next day Garuranteed'
I entered details weight size etc, agreed price and paid at checkout. I was mailed a receipt informing me a collection date of 23/12.
We waited will 5.30 but noone arrived, so i called the next day, and was informed there's a slight backlog and they would arrive maybe today or the 29th!!
I looked at the TnC's on their website,
Late Delivery Claims
Any item that is sent to a guaranteed area on a guaranteed delivery service will be refunded in full. Certain exclusions apply, see below.
Exclusions
A Consignment will only be considered late if it is sent on a guaranteed service to a guaranteed area and exceeds the guaranteed delivery date.
The money back Guarantee for late deliveries is invalidated under any the following circumstances -
So im supposed to logon and browse around every website, and check there's no hidden information from their News or any other link?!?!?
Google interparcel and see for yourself.
There was no warning/notice/information of any sort informing me my delivery would be delayed in any way during the whole process of ordering this next day delivery. They have refused refund. What do i do next?
TIA

Did your own courier let you down due to the weather??
Given the weather across the country on the 23/12 and following days, the carrier will rely on their T&C's which will have a clause for bad weather (acts beyond their control) - all carriers have similar T&C's so I assume they will have this clause.
If you were on a tight deadline to return around the xmas period then you should have done so earlier - any fee for late return would be consequential loss and I doubt covered by the carrier.0 -
DHL have been trying to deliver a parcel to me since the 29th.
Weather and time of year are playing havoc for all delivery companies so I think you just need to be a bit more pragmatic unfortunately.
Come tomorrow if you live in Fife you might not see anyone for a week when the salt runs out.0 -
The t&cs are posted above in my first posting "acts of god" are mentioned but is snow an act of god?! Anyway the day i ordered there wasn't ANY snow in my area whatsoever.
Also this is sold as garuanteed NEXT day delivery? Not best efforts. No warning of not being garuanteed. And clearly states late deliveries - Any item that is sent to a guaranteed area on a guaranteed delivery service will be refunded in full.
Why not remove the service until they can garuantee?0 -
the weather is not their fault, how can they be held liable?
and yes, i would say snow is an act of god.
common sense really, just build a bridge and get over it!0 -

They should have told you if they weren't even going to be able to collect the item.
I would push for the full refund & I would also write to their head office explaining that you paid for the service and would have gone elsewhere if they had told you that there would be a delay so requesting a refund of the late payment charge you have had to pay.Wedding 5th September 20150 -

the op booked via a booking agent to get a TNT service
so what happens depends on the T&C's they agreed to
had they booked direct with the courier(at higher cost) its a different scenario0 -
OP What time did you book the service? Some have really low cut offs0
