you need to weigh up the cost of the phone/deal and the 'free' gift
if you were ging to buy the free gift anyway eg xbox,PS3 etc then you can offset that cost directly against the contract costs
also check the deal for how long it runs eg 12,18,24 month contracts
    also monthly costs v benifits/inclusives

i know someone that did it to get a 360 they would buy anyway so its a good deal for them

Agree a hundred per cent - just trying to find a deal that is offering a laptop - amazing, you see them on TV and then can't find them or find anyone who knows of them!

I'm well overdue a new phone - so to combine the two would've been a good idea...

  • I would be buying a new TV at some point, as Jeanie says, it would cost me about £180 for a new LG 32" TV. The phone may not be an i-phone, but seems ok for what i need. I think if T-Mobile will give me an i-phone for free I will go for that, if not I think the TV deal wins!

Have you looked at affordable mobiles? Or carphone warehouse, phones4u etc? Alternatively, google: mobile deals with free laptops, you should get quite a few.

Think you can get a free iphone at carphone warehouse - contracts vary and top price is £30 per month etc. Take a look - I'd post a link.... but we've kinda been there...!! :rotfl:

It would appear to be - I've not been on for a few weeks - and tried to post a link on this thread earlier and it wouldn't happen and someone 'said' you can't post links on here.. whether its just this forum and not others, who knows?? Bit of a b*mmer if its true...

Think the information is wrong. Nothing has been posted anywhere. The link thingy still works. Press this to go to main forum. This is the actual link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ and it still works. This is to an Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/ and also works.
  • check out buymobilephones.net. They have a range of laptops with mobile contracts

Are they a reputable company? I don't like being conned... :o

  • Any suggestions Mark?

Combine a Mobiles.co.uk deal from Vodafone on the Nokia 5530 (great touchscreen phone) for £30 per month with 600 minutes and unlimited texts, with the £240.00 auto cashback (cheque in the post within 28 days), with £50 Quidco cashback for your new contract.

Then zoom to LaptopsDirect.co.uk with your new £290.00 and buy something a lot better than the rubbish dealers buy in bulk, something like the "GRADE A1 - Acer Aspire 751h Laptop in White" for £239.97 or from eBuyer.com quickfind code 177166.

The end result is a better laptop, possibly some money in your pocket, and a much better phone.
    Hope that helps,

    Mark
