Carpet pile reversal

I purchased a carpet and as soon as it was laid noticed that it had patches most are small but there are two large ones, one in each room. I complained to the shop from which I had purchased who sent an inspector and they said it was carpet pile reversal and agreed it looks horrible.
However they said could do nothing about it and I would have to contact the manufacture of the carpet who also sent a inspector, the manufactures inspector is claiming it is pile flattening and will not replace.
I have been back to the shop but they just told me to try writting to the manufacture again.
My carpet looks horrible and I don't know what to do next ?

Surely if it was purchased through their company, then they are responsible for it?
I hate how in this day and age people are meant to go back to the manufacturers rather than the company they bought it from dealing with.0 -
sorry but i dont see why you need to be contacting the manufacturer you didnt purchase direct through the manager you purchased it through a supplier, it is there responsibility. I would get in touch with trading standards and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
How old is the carpet?Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
We purchased the carpet at the end of October and the first inspector came out on the 16th November.0

i would definetly go speak with trading standards/CAB i would also send the supplier a recorded delivery letter stating that you brought this issue to their attention immedietly after fitting, they have also stated that its a manufacturing issue (pile reversal) by their own admission and that of the manufacturers, ideally if you can get a report stating this first, then tell them you want it replaced technically its faultyEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
