Is my laptop wireless ?

Am getting a router from Virgin and want to know if I need a wireless card (G or N ?) or if my laptop is wireless enabled
My laptop is an Advent 7081 and when I check on the connection properties i can find "set up wireless network "
Can I take it to be wireless ?

Thanks :money:

Have a look in Device Manager and see if there is a wireless card listed under network connections.
It's my problem, it's my problem

What's a caed? I don't speak Welsh that well. That site seems to confirm what I said though.

Would also recommend replacing smaller RAM chip with 1GB (max the mobo will take by the look) should give a nice performance boost :)

You can simply plug an Ethernet lead in the side of it an use it as a wired device.

I'm not sure from your post if you thought it HAD to be a wireless connection.

Agreed, 256MB is just not enough. machine is probably annoying slow. Bit pricy for 1GB though. Expect around £30.

    Examples here and here.

USB Wireless Adapters here or here or here if your laptop may be far away from the router.

Absolutely, upping the ante on the Ram is a great (and economical) way to enhance performance

I think there is something wrong with you. GunJack already covered that aspect and I added price examples.

Is this yet another thread where you just post for the sake of posting, with absolutely no technical advice of which to add?

You don't need to reply, as I already know the answer.

Why is there not an ignore function on the board? I could do without reading your inane postings.

    There is an ignore function.

click on their profile about ¼ of the way down the page there is a line add user to friends list, add user to ignore list.

There is, but you are so stupid you don't recognize it

And some more - much more - of 'Donnie's' helpful advice to a poster:

Since you've taken eight months to finally take some affirmative action, I shouldn't hold out much hope of you actually solving it, including taking it back to PC World.
Indeed, since you bought your machine from PC World you are in all probability, clearly beyond help.
