There's also a new Chinese Buffet opened on the corner of Piccadilly and Portland Street, cheap and cheerful £4.95 all you can eat, large choice of food too but avoid the fried sausages, they are cheap but definitely not cheerful.

If you are around the Piccadilly area, I can recommend Abode (http://www.michaelcaines.com/restaurants/manchester).

Go in the cafe bar bit (Bar MC) upstairs (street level) , not the posh restaurant downstairs. They do really good offers on either two or three course set menu's, sometimes including wine. Last time we went, we had three courses each with a bottle of house red for £32 (in total).

It's owned by Michael Caines (not the actor) who's a michelin star chef and was actually there in the kitchen the first time we went.
