Do they exist at a decent price?
I have seen them for a tenner each!!!!
£40 to light my kitchen seems obcene, do they save much money?
How much do 4 X 40W R50's cost to run, compared to Energy saving ones?

Ikea and Maplin (I thought they did but can't see them now) do them @ 7w
Ikea charge about £2.99 ea. but you might find they are out of stock. I wonder if they are going to stop stcking them? I'll have to send them an email.
out of interest where in your kitchen are the R50's mounted?
4 x 7 = 28 w = 0.028 kwh per hour
4 x 40 = 160 w = 0.16 kwh per hour
1 kwh = whatever say 10p
2 hours a day = 700 hours a year
= 19.6 kwh = £1.96 per year
= 112 kwh = £11.20 per year0 -
they are on the ceiling in a lighting bar thingy. Why?0
