i have just received an email asking to verify my credit cards details etc.
but this time they had my ID name and my email address. and it was addressed to me as so and not the usual dear ebay member etc....
looked very authentic so any newbies please beware.
it was very different to the usual spoof letters i usually receive, and worrying that they had more personal info.
cheers

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I think a good rule of thumb is to be suspicious of any email 'from eBay' where there is a login link in the email.
They should be sent to spoof@ebay.co.uk (or .com).
The same goes for PayPal (spoof@paypal.com).I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0 -
I received this one today also.. (reported)
Its from "aw-confirm@ebay.com"
And the subject is "Unable to verify or authenticate your credit/debit card information on file..."
As Molly states it uses your eBay id and email adress on the details.. not just the usual Dear eBay member..0 -
I too have been getting these emails through, was concerned at first, but after I had about half a dozen of them I just deleted them.
If though, you are in any doubt about your account being compromised DO NOT use the link on the email. Go to the site concerned directly & verify your details.
99.9% of the sites will not ask for credit card details when signing up to them. Only the spooof emails will.
It's also a good idea to report the email spoof to the site that's being spoofed.Filiss0
