mpeg files help

I have mpeg video files from my camcorder. I want to burn them onto a dvd which i can then view on a dvd player. Do i have to convert them first?
Also, there were moff and modd files when i transferred the mpeg files onto pc. What would these files be for :s

Help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, you would need to convert them. Try DVDFlick it's straightforward to use and does good job.

However if you have moff and modd files it doesn't sound to me as though you have mpeg files. It sounds more like your using a HD camcorder that produces AVCHD footage. In which case you'll need to find something that can edit mts files.
