Apple Care

I know this is a question best directed towards the more knowledgable Apple fans!
My partner has decieded to by a MacBook and because of the amount of cash we are going to spend i have advised her to purchase AppleCare. I already have the EPP discount through my employers however i am not sure if that qualifies for a discount on AppleCare, as i got mine for £50 when i was at University and mine was registered straightaway so i did not need to do anything,
My partners sister is at uni, so we could ger her to purchase it for us, however this is an option we do not want to use.
Lastly if we were to buy it off eBay, what do we need to look out for, do we need to buy a UK AppleCare, or if we brought one from the US would the Mac still be covered or not?
Thanks

When I bought my macbook last dec I got a massive discount on the apple care (£152 off so around £50). I got mine with the educational discount as I work at a university, so you might be able to get the discount with the EPP but I'd have thought the discount was most likely linked to the purchase of the macbook.0

I've bought applecare for a couple of my machines off e-bay with no problems and saved over £100 on each. Both times they were from sellers from the USA who just e-mailed me the codes, which I then entered onto the appropriate section of the Apple website (which if I remember rightly asks you which country you live in). I made sure I only bought from large companies on e-bay with plenty of positive feedback and paid through paypal.
My macbook has been in for repairs 3 times (twice at a premium reseller and once at an apple store) so the warranty has worked.
Don't forget you can buy and register Applecare anytime within the first 12 months, so you don't have to purchase it straight away.0
