Games not running in Windows 7

My son got a new laptop for Christmas which is running Windows 7, he has a couple of Lego Creator games which used to run fine under Vista and both the game manufacturer and Microsoft state that the games are Win 7 compatible but they just don't work!
All that happens is that the screen goes black and you have to use task manager to shut the game down. Have tried running in compatibility mode but it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

it maybe that the graphics card isnt compatible with the games on the new lapotop
unfortunatley with laptops you cant upgrade your graphics card like you can with desktopsReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
They run with the same graphics card on Vista though!xxx Nikki xxx0

How do you go to compatibility mode please as I am trying to get my Dymo Label Printer to work?0 -
What lego creator is it? Cause they say it was never vista compatable without a 3rd party patch.
also what brand and model is the laptop, or the processor ram and graphics card has it?Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
