It did go through Faster Payment. The branch I went into said I could take £3000 cash, but this was a local limit for that branch (SE17) and I could take the full amount if I went into the West End.0 -
BBA's guidance on the use of the description "instant". See section 14.

Seems like the account meets the criteria for "instant access".0 -

If you would have just let the original online payment go through on the 31st then that too would have gone through faster payments. It would have been in your other account that day!
You can take any amount out of any branch as long as you give 24 hours notice.0 -
My 12 month regular saver matured a few days ago and became a 'more for more' saver, walked into my local branch today without any pre-arrangement and withdrew £3649.54 (long story as to why the high amount). I provided ID in the form of my Driving Licience and had my cash within 5 minutes ! No hassle whatsoever !0

It seems that Barclays have varying cash withdrawal limits - my local branch limits you to £1000 in cash per day.0 -

I have no way of knowing that. The system simply said it would be sent on the 31st. If it had been sent via BACS, I would not have received until the 5th at the earliest.
Anyway, the point is I needed MY money on the 29th - when I wanted MY money in accordance with the T&Cs under which I lent it to them, not when Barclays thought it would be OK to give it to me.iblametheparents wrote: »Seems like the account meets the criteria for "instant access".
The "more for more" account may be OK as the refusal on the cash was on the basis of a local floor limit, but that doesn't excuse the refusal to process an electronic transfer for less than £10K on the date requested (or the dreadful advice, or the 50 minute wait to see a cashier).0
